There is to be a second by-election in Baillieston Council ward on Thursday 6th November 2008 following the sad death of Labour Councillor Douglas Hay.

Well known local campaigner David Jackson is again the Liberal Democrat candidate. David was the only candidate to move up the poll last month but the election means that local people will be going to the polls for the 3rd time in 4 months!

David said : "I am delighted to have been selected as the Scottish Liberal Democrat candidate for the Baillieston by-election. We need a hard working local Councillor to tackle the issues in the Baillieston area. I remain committed to improving Baillieston and the surrounding areas. I live in Baillieston so know what issues really matter to local people."
